Flying Techniques Clinique

The best flight technique training and up-to-date briefing on equipment you can find to become an advanced pilot. The schedule and contents has been recognized by the DHV and hence the Flying Techniques Clinique is recommended as Performance Training. Although intense, this training is stress-free and a perfect paragliding vacation for an ambitious pilot.

The Flying Techniques Clinique is organized into 3 sections:

1) Reserve - Rescue - Training

Target-oriented deployment of the reserve during pendulum movement of the harness.
Aim: Compatibility and functionality check of the unit harness-reserve.
Location: Indoors or outdoors if weather conditions permits, simulator harness

2) Flight training above ground

Following and in-depth theoretical consideration of every excersice, the harness, accelerator, and brake lines are adjusted thoroughly. The flight instructor announces every training section by radio and the following exercises will be executed:

  • Start training using video
  • Pendulum and pitch stability, roll movements
  • Using the foot accelerator
  • Fly the polare (Descend in m/s as a function of speed)
  • Big ears with foot accelerator
  • Spiral up to  45° angle
  • small wing collapses
  • body movement and adjustment during the flight - active flying

Training will be done at the following flight zones: Hauser Kaibling (1200m ED), Krippenstein (1500m ED), and Bischling (900m ED).

3) Flight training above water

All training sections are above water given the following safety measures: life vest and radio for every pilot, rescue boot and team present. Video analyses of the training sections collapses, B-stall, and spirals. The following sections will be executed:

  • Side collapses out of trim speed
  • B-stall
  • fast turns
  • Spirals up to 60 °

Aim: Your equipment has beed adjusted to its optimum. You are able to start and land also during  strong wind conditions. You can control and stabilize your wing after side collapses and are able to use the spiral as a method of fast descend. You have learned to use your complete body in harmony with the wing and use it to fly fast turns and to adjust your body while flying at different speed.
Requirements: A-license or SOPI. Your own, liability-insured equipment.
